Run For The Roses! A tribute to the Kentucky Derby with a rose garden fragrance and a lace bottom! Southern charm.

The rose garland, now synonymous with the Kentucky Derby, is the source of the nickname “Run for the RosesĀ®” and has a history almost as long as the Derby itself.

1896 – The rose garland first appeared when the winner, Ben Brush, received a floral arrangement of white and pink roses

1904 – The red rose became the official flower of the Kentucky Derby

1925 – New York sports columnist Bill Corum famously dubbed the Kentucky Derby the “Run for the RosesĀ®.”

1932 – The garland as it exists today was first introduced for the 58th running, won by Burgoo King

I’m creating soaps for the National Dairy Goat Show taking place in Louisville, KY. They will all be a tribute to the women, men and events that shape Kentucky.
All glitter is biodegradable. I pack in recycled boxes and my shrink wrap is plant based! How cool is that!
We have Nigerian Dwarf goats – which you can check out on Quixotic Acres facebook. We milk everyday and I am making lotions, soaps, ricotta, yogurt, kefir and more all summer long!
